Xion Audio is now available for the U3 flash drives. This portable application is for the music enthusiast and is advanced enough for those wanting to fully customize their player.
Xion is setting a new standard in skin players. Their approach is to read directly from a Photoshop .PSD file to be used as the skin. The support is advanced enough to tag different layers within your .PSD file and properly display graphics on your player.
What is especially nice about this player is that skin files (which can get very large) can be zipped and Xion will extract on-the-fly to create your skin. This approach decreases the amount of memory needed to run the mini-application.

Digital Lifestyle Outfitters created a unique fashionable cover for the iPod Nano. The design uses a twist hinge at the top to easily flip the cover from a durable leather to soft plaid fabric.
~~~
The Twister design allows you to easily adapt to your fashion needs. A clear window guards your iPod’s screen, and full access to the click-wheel lets you easily control your tunes without removing your Nano from its protective case.
I like the design not only for the twist cover feature but the ability you can reverse the fabrics for two very different looks.
At just $25 the Twister Nano Case is a great, fun way to add some protection.
SanDisk recently took the most kid familiar shape, a sippy-cup, and turned that into an MP3 player. The Sansa Shaker is a 512MB MP3 player with SD expansion slot to introduce your child into the world of music.
What’s fun about this product is the twist navigation features at top and bottom. A lot like LeapFrog products one might already be familiar with (if you have kids). In addition SanDisk built in a shake feature to aid in the little guy finding the beat (probably bead sound like maracas but no specifics given).
Let me help Belkin help you with their latest product announcement the In-Desk Grommet USB Hub and In-Desk Grommet iPod Dock Station. Every now and again, a real great idea comes along and I believe this is one of them. What I like about this solution are the side spaced so you can still fit your other cables, like monitor and keyboard connections down through the desk grommet.
At $39 the Belkin In-Desk USB iPod dock station and hub are a fair price. Belkin also has two other “flat” models available. Grommet size solutions are standard 2 inch and 3 inch holes. I was going to click the Buy Now button, but Belkin is just prepping the market, nothing is available just yet.
Alesis has a new compact mixing station that does a little more than mix. What’s great about the iMultiMix 8 USB, is that you have the ability to record directly to iPod. So this direct-connect ability puts those 28-bit studio grade digital effects and recordings ripe-n-ready for podcasting.
For ultra–clean live recordings of nearly any performance, including home studios, musicians, podcasters, and houses of worship, the iMultiMix 8 USB is an ideal solution.
I reported on the iPod DJMixer from ION Audio, but that was just a mixer for playing from your iPod, the iMultiMix gives you professional quality mixing, 3 band per channel EQ, guitar/line inputs, built-in FX and iPod recording in a single, smart package.
This should run about $500.
My buddy purchased a Zune a couple days ago and learned it didn’t work with his Windows Vista. He did figure out how to run the Zune on Windows Vista. A little digging around he came up with the following article, thought to pass it along.
Before you start be sure you have the Zune CD, WinRAR (if you don’t have it, grab a trial version) and a this Zune.msi install patch (here *requires log-in on forum).
There are 10 steps to this process and please don’t plug in your Zune until prompted to by the Zune software.
Doing music releases on a flash drive are slowly becoming more popular. Now available are The Fratellis on flash.
The 256MB flash drive includes the single Baby Fratelli (listen now), the video which goes along with it, a web link and “competition,” whatever that is. I would say The Fratellis have a touch of Penny Wise, Wild Flower and my buddies band Imperial X.
Gadget Centre has once again pulled through with an excellent review. The Terratec USB Surround Sound Headmaster is one high-tech, well built, hard core headphone system.
…held together by a unsightly looping support which wouldn’t look out of place in a medieval dungeon, it’s a good job the Headset Master is for your PC: if you took it outside people would go out of their way to point and laugh at you.
Chris Russell points out that although they are a little heavy, they are well built and designed for the hard core gamer who’d appreciate every tweak of sound during an all intense Counter-Strike tourney.
The iPod’s Alarm Clock is nestled among other features like Calendar and Notes under the iPod’s Extras menu. While you may already be familiar with many of the iPod Extras (especially Games), the Alarm Clock is largely an under appreciated feature.
Whether you prefer to be woken by the scream of a rock star or the French horn in a classical symphony, the iPod’s Alarm Clock can help you open your eyes every morning with style!
It’s always healthy to check in over-seas and see what trinkets are in the works. Well, the latest is a Disney MP3 player with a feeble attempt for looking like an iPod. The MixStick is a 512MB MP3 player where the navigation area is circular like the iPod but classy touch of a shuffle and repeat button atop for that Mickey tech look.
And the stainless steel Mickey MP3 player isn’t alone, one can also select from all white, pink with Minnie MP3 player or the blue Stitch MP3 player.
The Electronic USB Wind Instrument from Ion Audio is something I bet any mother would pay top dollar for. With this USB instrument any middle-schooler can plug in and play a range of woodwind, brass, string synthesizer and percussion straight from the computer. Add in headphones and no more annoying notes while your little one learns the pipes. Or in my case, no more howling dog while playing the sax.
If you think about it, the USB wind instrument is probably the best tool for any newbie looking at learning an instrument. The EWI USB also comes with sampler software, pitch bend plates and octave rollers for an unprecedented playing experience. The touch-sensitive buttons make it ideal to learn clarinet, sax and flute. Add this to your USB roll-up piano and you’re set.
Ion Audio released their iTTUSB USB Turntable several years ago and has since introduced the product with dust cover, the iTTUSB10. But isn’t the dust coming off those old records?
Once you get the convert vinyl to MP3 process down, grab the portable iPod PA system and head outdoors. The iPA03 is from Ion Audio and is built for outdoor abuse with the roadie looking case, wheels and handle. With microphone included this might be
