A-Data has USB drive with solar cell
Due out in April of 2006, A-Data and MSI have introduced a solar powered USB flash drive. Well, the solar cell contributes to running the LCD display to show remaining capacity of the device, now if this thing had a headphone jack for listening to MP3s, they might be onto something. Also seems the solar cells could become another item to break while being tossed around, but we can’t make that armchair judgment until GetUSB reviews one. Unit is no larger then a typical thumb drive with single line plus character LCD display, back lighting, volume control, pause, 3 record modes and durable case. IOCell released the largest USB flash drive yet at CeBIT 2006, a 16GB device named CellDisk16GB. They probably bridged two 8GB flash memory chips to produce this monster as 16GB single memory chips are not yet available. IOCell has not additional information other then making a splash at CeBIT – GetUSB wonders what fruit or vegetable will pear up for this photo shoot.
