Airis Digital Audio Player

DAP Review stumbled upon the 2 new players from Airis called the N0041 and the N0042 – with capacities of 1 and 2 GB respectively. The player has a battery life of 10 hours and is relatively thin at only 1.5” 128×128 pixel color screen. A nice bonus is the battery is user replaceable. Other features this player offers are FM Radio, Video Playback and picture viewing all weighing in at a total of 40 grams.

Install Yahoo! Widgets on USB Flash Drive

Back in Octoboer of 2006 Yahoo! Widgets and U3 came together to offer the Yahoo! Widgets engine for U3 flash drives. The Yahoo! Widget Engine for U3 allows you to run 1,000 of widgets directly from your U3 flash drive. Take your Yahoo! Widgets everywhere you go. Below is the link to grab the Widget engine and install it onto your flash drive.

Be sure you have a U3 flash drive and it’s inserted and active (powered up in PC) in your OS before installing. The download is 10.7MBs and from there you can launch for installation. The Yahoo! engine comes with some Widgets pre-installed. You need 32MBs of space on the flash drive and need to run at least Win2000 or XP with SP1 or better. SanDisk, the 2nd largest seller of MP3 players just gave the well known Sansa a face lift. The Sansa Connect is the next step in wireless MP3 players. What we like about the Sansa Connect is the ability to access your music or photos via any Wi-Fi hotspot. This means the storage capacity of the player itself isn’t limited, but rather your PC storage capacity determines that – something we all know is east to upgrade.

In addition, the Sansa Connect receives a wide range of music subscription services and streaming Internet radio. With a “live” button to connect into communities and grab features or recommendations for music genres. At 4GBs you can stuff (on average) 1,000 songs into the flash memory, but again, virtually unlimited when exchanging anywhere, anytime via Wi-Fi. Colorful Transcend USB Flash Drives

Is that a Switch Blade or New Lexar 360 JumpDrive?

Lexar announced their new Lexar JumpDrive 360 USB Flash Drive at the 2007 CES show. The new style is a capless design and encased in a rotating metal jacket you flip out before use – kinda like a switch blade.

All Lexar drives will now ship with BitLocker Drive encryption software and Windows PE 2.0 for Vista. Of course Lexar is claiming the JumpDrive 360 is compatible with ReadyBoost, but who isn’t making that claim these days. Patriot Memory is claiming the world’s fastest flash drive at the CES 2007 show this year. The X-Porter XT Version 2 can achieve 39MB transfer rates. Now besides the fact of anyone reproducing a manufacturers test specs, lets take it at face value – WOW that’s fast.
