Intel is making an interesting marketing move these days with positioning the “Father of USB” as one of Intel’s best performing “Rock Stars.”
You have may have seen the Intel commercial I posted several weeks ago. You may have seen that same commercial on TV [as I did] and now we have Ajay Bhatt, the Father of USB, on the Conan O’Brian show.
Clearly Intel is making a push for the general public to pick up on USB and it’s newer technology USB 3.0.
What is funny about the Conan O’Brian interview is that in my original USB video post with Ajay Bhatt as the main character, was exactly that, just a character. The real Ajay Bhatt is interviewed by Conan. It’s a funny little interview, check it out after the jump.

Buffalo is the 2nd company to announce a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 external hard drive. Although anyone can make the claim, we know the players who mean what they say. Buffalo always delivers so we are anxious to get the green light on purchasing…the DriveStation by Buffalo is the fastest USB hard drive on the market [or will be] with transfer speeds over 125MBs/second. WOW.
According to USB-IF, Buffalo HD-HXU3 will be powered by Fujitsu MB86C30A USB 3.0 to SATA IC.
If Buffalo’s current DriveStation series is any indication, Buffalo will likely use the Fujitsu IC’s AES USB encryption engine, and ship with some version of Memeo’s AutoSync backup software. Also launched is a USB 3.0 card to take advantage of the new SuperSpeed USB mode. Buffalo will initially ship the USB 3.0 drive in 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB sizes and include the add-on card. You can expect the USB 3.0 hard drive from Buffalo to ship in Asia and UK markets by end of Q4 and the US by early 2010.

It’s not everyday you see a Rubik’s cube USB hack to house a USB flash drive. It’s not everyday you get a sexy sounding lady explaining how she did the mod either. But here we have exactly that. I’m a bit disappointed with the lack of info on how she did it, but none the less, a good 1.20sec time killer.

I had doubts putting this post up today. Honestly it’s just for the pure novelty of it all. Brando has a USB Ferris Wheel for your office. Yes, that’s right, a ferris wheel to make your work day just that much more fun.
