The new USB video borescope from USBFever gives you the chance to check things out that you’ve never wanted to see. Ok maybe that’s a bit odious [and suggestive], but the option is available considering the water resistant camera head and tube.
The USB borescope has a 300k digital camera on the front end, plus a nice accessory magnetic kit for the tip. Now it’s easier than ever to find your keys lost behind the couch.
Two white LED lights are positioned at the apex to illuminate those dark holes or areas.
What is especially cool about the USB borescope is the ability for taking pictures or live video. With the video option you can take those YouTube clips to the next level.
The USB snake scope retails for $64 + a couple bucks shipping.

The second half of this year will be exciting for GetUSB.info as USB 3.0 products and devices make it’s way into the retail space. Today we are going to start off with one of the first products, the USB 3.0 Cable.
USBFever released their 6 foot USB 3.0 cable for $10. The cable is USB A male to A male connector. The cable looks the same as a USB 2.0 cable, so what’s the difference in a USB 3.0 cable? Read on:USB 3.0 is also called USB SuperSpeed. When data is being transmitted under the SuperSpeed dual simplex signaling occurs, meaning…it’s possible two sets of dataContinue ReadingNo Comments
Not really, but if they had too – they would. The Statue of Liberty USB drive is a perfect replica of the original at Liberty Island. The manufacturer put great detail into make sure the smallest grooves and carves match the real Statue of Liberty.
Available in 2, 4 and 8GB sizes.
If you have a moment, here is some information you probably didn’t know about the Statue of Librty:
The first model, on a small scale, was built in 1870. This first statue is now in the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris.
A second model, also on a small scale, was further brought to Maceió, a city in the Northeast of Brazil. This model is in front

Don’t get too excited, the flash drive doesn’t blow up and take everyone with it, nor does it spit out harmful bio chemicals for mass destruction. Rather, the Fujitsu USB flash drive will self destruct using a much less flamboyant method…it will erase itself.
The drive is a prototype design whereby the internal workings include a processor and battery and after a certain amount of time, the data on the stick will erase itself. Or self destruct.
But just incase this method is a bit too hard-core, Fujitsu has an alternate method for data protection. The second method includes an auto erase feature if the USB flash drive is used to copy files to an unauthorized workstation or server. Using the Fujitsu re-direct software as the backbone, it can prevent data from being uploaded to file-sharing networks, sent as e-mail attachments, or printed, according to Fujitsu.
Since this is just a prototype you’ll need to wait a bit longer, but for those who are impatient, GetUSB.info knows of one flash drive which already offers USB Copy Protection. The drive will also Copy Protect PDF files, flash, MPG and a host more multimedia files.

So lets clarify exactly what I’m talking about here…a TV spy remote is a device that allows you to control someone else’s TV without being around, thus wreak havoc in their life. After all, what could be more upsetting then turning off the TV at your neighbors house during American Idol or watching Jack Bower kick a$$ in 24? I don’t think there is a greater pleasure.
Since you can’t buy a TV spy remote at buy.com or Amazon, or anywhere else, check out this TV Spy Remote tutorial I found at Instructables.
The tools and materials you need could be found anywhere, as this hack was done at a college dorm room and you know those kids have not $$ or resources.

Corsair put an interesting twist on backup technology. They have devised a one touch USB flash drive backup adapter. The adapter has a female USB port sitting on the top of the device. This is where you can plug in any flash drive. The adapter then connects to your PC via miniUSB cable.
At this point, the USB backup adapter is ready to suck information off your PC and stuff it onto your flash drive, with the push of a single button.
Of course you need to set some configuration options in the NovaBackUp software, but once set – you’re ready at any moment.
“Our research indicated that over 80% of users have a My Documents folder of less than 64GB, and more than 85% need to regularly transport less than 64GB of data between different PCs. This shows that USB flash drives are an efficient method of backing up your data, and with high-capacity USB flash drives, there is still plenty of room for your favorite music, photos and even movies,” said Jim Carlton, Corsair’s vice president of marketing.
This is also an excellent marketing tool to encourage users to break away from their 2 year old 1GB drives and saddle up for a larger 16GB, 32GB or 64GB flash drive.
I for one, am a lazy backer-upper and a device like this might encourage me to be more vigilante about data backups.
The Corsair USB backup adapter has an MSRP of $35.

Here is a great looking Steampunk Custom flash drive. The creator, Marcos, put a brass shell around the outside of this USB stick, then decorated the outside with miniature gears and watch components.
It appears Marcos took the USB cap and attached it to the end with some included brass gears and other Steampunk detail.
The custom flash drive uses a piston gear from the USB connector to the watch components as a representation of the power from the PC being transferred to the heart of the USB stick.
The 2GB steampunk custom flash drive is only $50, is 100% handcrafted and completely unique. There is limited stock, so if interested get on it.
The USB Steampunk can be found and purchased at Etsy.

Pretec is about to introduce an aptly named eSATA/USB dual interface flash drive named Cobra. This ultra fast flash drive has max read speeds of 90MB per second and max write speeds of 60MBs per second.
The dual channel interface has the eSATA connector at one end and the USB connector at the other.
The Pretec Cobra is available in 32GB and 64GB sizes, which is respectable given the fast transfer rates. This info was sourced via Engadget China, so no word on pricing or availablility.

The blogosphere has been talking quite a bit about the new LaCie USB key chains, in fact, I did a post just the other day about them. Well, yesterday LaCie sent GetUSB.info the iamaKey model. Here she is in the wild.
The iamaKey is a beautiful drive. Extremely solid, heavy and doesn’t scratch easily. LaCie put a lot of effort into the design and material selection to make one outstanding drive. I’ve used dozens of flash keys and most end up failing and in the trash. With the durability I see here, the iamaKey will last.
So here’s the deal…I’m going to keep the iamaKey on my keychain until it breaks. I use USB sticks daily so there will be frequent tests. I’ve also been known to forget my keys in my pants, which ultimately ends up in the wash…so there are many stress test opportunities.
I’ll report back when the device fails, but don’t expect an update anytime soon.
