Just looking at the picture, wouldn’t it be a shame if the Porsche inspired USB hard drive from LaCie got a scratch on it? Not many tech products get designed after house-hold names, like Porsche, but it seems LaCie is making a good business out of it.
The exclusive design is available in 500GB and 1TB size with an even more exclusive size of 750GBs only available at Porsche stores. Wouldn’t that be odd, “Honey, I’m going down to the Porsche dealership to pick up a hard drive to expand the TiVo box.” But, after she saw the hard drive, I’m sure she would understand.
So when you can find a 500GB USB hard drive for about $80, why bother? Drop another $20 and get the LaCie Porsche version. Now that is money well spent.
For the tech folks, it’s USB 3.0 so great transfer rates. For the Uber-Geek, forget about Thunderbolt – sh!t, the spec just came out and I’m sure it took Porsche at least 6 months just to approve the design. So stop getting theoretical

Porsche is shipping a limited number of Panamera USB flash drives and we’ve got the pictures. It’s clearly a drive with a great amount of detail and pristine looking Porches logo on the USB cap.
It’s not clear if this is a marketing piece for Porsche or things to come about how we interface with the cars. Wouldn’t it be nice however, to have a USB key to start your car, upload recent maps, download car statistics and diagnostic information, sync MP3 files with your stereo. Seems to me the term USB key has been accepted quite nicely by everyone BUT the car manufacturers.
We believe the capacity is 4GBs, but has not been confirmed.

For obvious reasons we aren’t the biggest Bluetooth fans but more of a WUSB fan, never-the-less we do stumble into very cool products with Bluetooth technology. Take this Estilo Carrera GT Porshce Bluetooth mouse from Brando.
The Estilo GT mouse is extremely cool looking and the ideal gadget gift for that Porsche loving greek friend. The Bluetooth dongle sits in the rear trunk of the wireless mouse with left and right clickers along with scroll mouse on the hood.
I guess you could make the argument that some fellow “over seas” chopped up the Estilo design and did the world a disfavor by creating a Porsche mouse, but if that’s you…get a life…it’s a cool looking mouse.
