Apple To Release A Curved Screen Iphone
With the 10th anniversary of the iPhone approaching, features and design for the celebratory version of the device have been leaked or rumored in the last week. According to various reports, at least one new model will be available with a curved OLED screen similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. This high end model, however, is estimated to sell for just over $1,000 and to be marketed as a premium option alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
All versions will be dropping the lightning port to align with Apple’s global shift to USB-C. The beauty (or danger) of this change is that it’s the first time in decades Apple will use industry standards for this port which can also be found on its competing products.
USB-C is a powerful transmitting medium of power, data, audio, and video, at a much faster rate than their previous lightning port. Additionally with the new MacBook Pro only having a USB-C port, there is no way yet to connect an iPhone to a Mac computer without extra hardware to bridge the difference.
