Brando is based in Hong Kong and isn’t familiary with all the traditions within the US, like Halloween. Just 2 weeks after our holiday, Brando introduces a skeleton USB stick. Maybe Brando was going after the gothic customer base rather than capitalize on the holiday buying trend.
Either way, here is the latest skeleton USB stick from Brando. The drive itself has a lever in the back to slide the USB connector in and out. This keeps the classic goth look to the device, while at the same time adding some protection to the USB connector.

Limited in range size, they offer only a 4GB version. That will set you back $32 USD.
Here is the sales pitch from Brando:
Fashionable USB Skeleton Necklace Flash Drive with decorative crystals and skeleton shape. Necklace is included to wear around your neck, surely will give you a stylish look.

Nanovision is aptly named because their product line is compiled of mini LCD monitors which connect via USB. The monitors are designed to be a single use screen for dedicated applications such as IM windows, stock quote streamers, toolbars for programs like Photoshop and calendars.

Nanovision is introducing 4 models of the mini LCD size with their technology backed by DisplayLink. The MIMO USB Monitor starts at a 7″ display with a 800×400 resolution, with higher end models including webcams, speakers and even touch screen capability.
Nanovision didn’t comment on availability in the states but the currency conversion gives the MIMO USB Monitors a price tag of just under $130.

Western Digital released a hard drive compliment to their USB Passport hard drive, the WD TV HD Media Player. What they’ve done is develop a high resolution real time streaming device capable of recording up to 1080p to your USB hard drive or super sized USB stick.

It’s clear to me Western Digital will begin developing products to complement or enhance the need of their core business products - hard drives and storage.
The WD TV HD Media Player has a memory buffer inside but uses two USB ports on the backside where you can plug in USB sticks or USB hard drives, like the Passport, to store the digital stream.
The WD TV HD is competatively prices at $129.99 and has HDMI composite outputs. (more…)

I don’t know what these guys are thinking but here’s an ugly bold box called a PC. From the front it looks like a toaster for only one slice of bread. From the side it’s got a handle for only god knows why.
With all the fancy gold on the outside, I’m curious what the back looks like. Probably your standard PC output panel.
In case you are wondering, we have no idea how much this gold gem costs but we do know it’s got a Dual Core 2.0 processor, eight USB ports, 100GB HDD and 4GB of RAM.

Digital Rights Management have surrounded music ever since the MP3 standard was set back in the late 90s. We’ve slowly seen labels and artists go the route of DRM free music, and today Datz.com is trying it again.

The program Datz.com is promoting is a $100 membership fee which gives you access to download as much content as you want. The membership comes with a CD and a loaded USB stick. It seems the USB music album continues to grow in popularity. The fee will last you 12 months, but what you accomplish in downloads is yours for life. Transfer, burn or copy those MP3 to any number of players you want.
Some of the record labels Datz.com is claiming you’ll get include EMI, Warner Bros Records, Beggars Group and The Orchard.
What’s the catch? Well, there’s an ominous phrase in the press release, “…a wide selection of new music released in 2009 will be available to Datz Music Lounge members,” indicating that perhaps not all of the new releases will be available?
In either event, if you love music and can part with a C note - Datz might be worth a shot.
