An Instructables member took an extra Wiimote and turned it into the eye-site gauge for the famous USB missile launcher.  Now you can have all the fun with the added pin-point accuracy for a deadly shot with your missile launcher.

With a spare remote, USB cable, USB missile launcher and some code they guys at Instructables provided, you too can have this USB hack.  The only concern you should have is the foam missiles really aren’t all that accurate, at least not the sample we tested.  But hey, forget about the logistics of it all, it’s the cool factor we’re chasing after.

Jared Bouck from InventGeek come up with a great mod for those USB Missile Launchers from Dream Cheeky. Rather than toy around with a foam missile, Jared up’d the anti with a soft air gun able to shoot plastic BBs up to 250 FPS. This is an ideal mod for rabbit control or pidgin control with a high level of fun involved. The other benefit from swapping out the foam missile launcher head, is the higher accuracy rate you’ll get from the soft air gun. When I reviewed the USB circus cannon [basically same product] that was a big down fall is lack of accuracy.

On the heels of USB missile launcher with webcam we have the Wireless USB Missile Launcher from Dream Cheeky.

I’m not sure how much value the wireless missile launcher brings to the table, other than distancing yourself another 15 feet from the firing source, the webcam version with MSN software controls seems a little better.

None-the-less, if your boss doesn’t allow Instant Message software on your PC then roll in the Wireless USB Missile Launcher. At 15 feet distance, it would be easy enough to hide it behind a plant and fire “at will” from an office down the hall.

Dream Cheeky has carved out a name for themselves with the USB missile launcher and USB circus cannon. Recently the bloggisphere reported on the updated version: USB missile launcher with webcam.

Dream Cheeky partnered with Microsoft on this one and integrated the webcam and control of the robotics through MSN instant messenger. For that reason, it’s called the USB MSN Missile Launcher.

This added user experience lets a remote person view and control the missile launcher to pelt the enemy during a moment of weakness. I reviewed the USB Circus Cannon a while back, and if the webcam version is as loud as the circus cannon version, there is no chance of a surprise attack.

We thought the USB Whack It game and USB missile launcher was a little overboard for USB geekiness, but the USB putting green reigns as most useless gadget as of today.

Eltima released their latest USB to Ethernet Connector software, version 2.4. The Eltima solution makes it possible to connect to any USB device over a LAN or Internet connection.

So how does Eltima get a USB device to work over Ethernet or LAN? In a nutshell their application intercepts USB port activity for the prepared (shared) device and redirects it via TCP/IP network to the remote site, where the protocol is handled appropriately.
