SanDisk offers SD/USB combo card at 2GBs

Written by Richard Blanchard on March 8th, 2006. Posted in Flash Storage, SanDisk, USB News

The SanDisk Ultra II SD Plus card is now at 2GB capacity, a jump in size which doubles the older model. The card looks and operates like a typical SD card but can fold in half to expose a USB 2.0 connection for quick connect to PCs. The card is High Speed 2.0 making it an ideal card for digital cameras, camera phones, PDAs and digital video cameras. SanDisk is quoting a 9MB per second transfer rate (when stars are perfectly aligned) and read speeds of 10MB/sec. The Ultra II speed increases camera performance with quick writes to the flash memory. Expect the SanDisk Ultra II Plus card around June 06 and with a list price of $135USD.
